Overview

Less than one hour from Bordeaux City, and the airport, this eXperience offers top class riding instruction for adults and teenagers of all levels.

This very professional family run equestrian facilities are situated in the stunning Bordeaux wine region, 50 minutes from Bordeaux airport and 1 hour from Bergerac airport, and you can combine your riding with visiting Bordeaux, viewing Chateaux, and tasting wine at some of the incredible vineyards of St. Emilion and the surrounding areas.

Enjoy a fully catered week of riding and relaxation in luxury accommodation.

Your hosts and trainers have been training horses and riders for over 35 years. The focus is always on sensitive and correct riding technique, with the aim of developing trust with better communication and clear instructions.

The eXperienced horses are light in the mouth and fabulously schooled, and they will introduce their riders to the importance of solid basics and higher level flatwork, ready to leave the ground!

Jumping is the specialty, and the horses have all competed at a high level in Show Jumping, but they happily trot poles and ‘pop’ small jumps when working with less experienced riders.

Watch an eXpert at work. eXperience demonstrations given by your trainer, showing various training techniques and ridden exercises. This is especially useful for equestrian students and young trainers who are intent on a career in the equine industry.

Preparation for riding exams. Riders who are aiming at BHS Stages from 2 upwards will need to demonstrate their ability to ride unknown horses both on the flat and over a course of jumps. Your hosts and trainers can help you to get the best result on the day with sound preparation and practice.

Explore the Region. The region is World renowned for it’s exceptional wine, and of course St. Emilion is the number one producer, with it’s 15 Premier Grand Cru Classe ‘A’ wines. Even more fun can be trying less well known Premier Grand Cru wines from smaller producers who offer tours and really quality wine. The beach resorts and beaches of the Atlantic coast are well worth the one hour and forty five minutes drive from the farm. Lacanau and Biscarrosse are big surfing hubs, and the spectacular sand beaches stretch 200km from Biarritz to Royan and beyond. Arcachon has undergone a major face lift and the Centre now has an underground car park which leads directly into the main square with shops, cafes and restaurants, next to the beach.

There are 4 golf courses less than one hour drive. Relaxed and friendly, there is always a good lunch available and green fees between 28 Euro and 60 Euro approx.

Programme Outline

Intensive Training
The intensive programme is about improving your ability to communicate with your horse, whatever your level, and developing your skills as a rider. Your trainners will discuss your experience and ambitions and create a programme for you.

3 days | 2 nights
This programme consists of 4 sessions of riding with half board accommodation, bed, breakfast and evening meal. Lessons take place in the morning and the afternoon, and are individual or shared with one other rider of similar ability. Extra lessons can be booked if required.

8 days | 7 nights
This programme consists of 10 sessions of riding with half board accommodation, bed, breakfast and evening meal. Lessons take place in the morning and the afternoon, and are individual or shared with one other rider of similar ability. Extra lessons can be booked if required. If preferred, the riding can be condensed to 5 sessions of 1 hour and 30 minutes. This is an ideal option for a guest with a non-riding partner as this allows plenty of time each day for exploring this wonderful region, especially those long, peaceful french lunches!


Groups and Special Training Week
8 days | 7 nights
For groups (more than 3 people in the same booking) and set dates during Spring and Autumn, we offer a special package for a maximum of 6 visitors. This very popular luxury week offers an all inclusive week of riding, lecture demo’s and competition practice. Additional organised excursions such as Chateau visit and wine tasting, and even a trip to the excellent local spa, can be arranged. The training gives a chance to work on your own riding and practice new skills. Also it is a relaxing and social holiday, to meet new people, enjoy dinner, good wine and lots of chat about horses!

The group week consists of 8 lessons, taken in pairs of same level riders. This allows some free afternoons for wine tasting, Chateau visits and trips out to Bordeaux, St Emilion or the spa!
