Programme Outline
Short Ride - 50 min
Short ride, ideal for horse riding beginners. The
whole route goes around the Equestrian Centre,
starting from this point towards the right (heading
to Pias Mountain) and returning to the starting point
through the Industrial Area. The route, initially in
asphalt, progresses on dirt road (50%), returning to
asphalt in its final stage. The whole way is broad
and without any significant inclinations.
Medium Ride - 1 h 15 min
Medium duration ride, accessible to most
people. The route starts at the Equestrian Centre
and goes up to the Pias Rocky Massif, but it does
not extend to it, as it turns right when reaching
the indication signs for the mountain bike and
trail courses. Here the ground is flat and gradually
descending until it finds the long equestrian route.
This is the point that marks the change of direction
in the route, which now returns to the Equestrian
Centre.
With the exception of the exit and return points to
the Equestrian Centre (5%), the whole route takes
place on dirt road, ideal for horse riding. Pauses
are recommended to rest, enjoy the landscape and
observe the local fauna and flora.
Long Ride - 2 h 30 min / 3 h
Long-length ride, recommended for those with
some experience and physical strength. When you
start at the Equestrian Centre, the route goes up
towards the Pias Rocky Massif, gradually leaving
the shorter equestrian routes. A break is suggested
at the top of the mountain to regain the energy and
enjoy the landscape. Back to the route, it descends
towards the village of Couce. Before the bridge,
the route proceeds, continuing upstream along
the Ferreira River and heading back the Equestrian
Centre.
With the exception of the last 1300 metres, the
route takes place on dirt roads, ideal for horse
riding. Several breaks are recommended to rest,
enjoy the landscape and observe the local fauna
and flora.
